Summering in Alaska and wintering in Texas, this artist, Gina Murrow, paints on silk – as scarves or as works of arts on silk stretched over canvas.  She tackles subject matter as dreamy as the aurora, as whimsical as pigs sauntering along an Alpine path, or as graceful as a trumpeter swan landing in Potter Marsh.  The silk background gives her works that soft-yet-vibrant quality unique to this medium.  She has also been selected as the illustrator for the new children’s book by Therese Gramercy; with 50 pieces of artwork all to be hand-painted on silk, it will be a book to be cherished for the artwork alone!
